Cape Cod Gateway Airport Welcomes Island Café Express

Terminal Restaurant Features Indoor and Outdoor Seating with Sandwiches, Wraps and Jamaican Cuisine

Airport announces that Island Café Express is now open with indoor and outdoor seating at the airport’s terminal building located at 480 Barnstable Rd in Hyannis.

Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Erica and Patrick Sterling, who came to Cape Cod 20 years ago from their native Jamaica, Island Café Express is a family-owned business, focused on supporting local food vendors and farms, while celebrating Jamaican cuisine. With their already popular Island Cafe and Grill at 251 Iyannough Rd. in Hyannis, Mass., Erica and Patrick hope Island Café Express will bring their signature dishes to a wider audience of travelers, with an emphasis on items to go.

Popular menu items include Jamaican jerk chicken, sandwiches as well as wraps, salads, seafood, and for the more adventurous palate, island specialties including braised oxtail and curried goat.

“Cape Cod Gateway Airport  is a great location for us to expand upon on the success we’ve had with the original Island Café & Grill location,” said Patrick Sterling. “It’s clear to see there is a lot of growth and potential at the airport, and we are
pleased to be part of the current and future success of this important regional transportation hub.”

“With American Airlines seasonal service to New York and Washington which began in June, JetBlue now in its 11th year with seasonal service to New York, and Cape Air with daily flights to Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and New York, the terminal at Cape Cod Gateway Airport can be a busy place,” said Cape Cod Gateway Airport Manager Katie
Servis. “Island Café Express is a welcome addition to the terminal for travelers and visitors to purchase take-out food options and refreshments on the way to their final destination. Or just stop by if you are in the area for
lunch.  Parking is free if you visit the café.”
